René Botha
René graduated from the University of the Free State in 1994. After a few years of working as a physiotherapist in Carletonville and Westonaria, she and her husband relocated to Boksburg, where she worked in various physiotherapy disciplines while starting a family.
She established her successful practice in Boksburg but decided to join The Physios on Rondebult Road in 2016 after Karen reached out following her husband’s passing.
René is affectionately known as “the lady” of the practice—gentle but strict. She possesses a deep understanding and passion for treating patients with chronic conditions. The older patients also love her gentle but firm approach.
She enjoys the diversity of the practice, where she can live out her passion for making a difference in every patient’s life.
Recognising the limited options available for patients with vertigo, René undertook a specialised course on BPPV (Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo). Since completing the course, she has successfully helped many clients suffering from this uncomfortable condition caused by crystals in the ear channel.
René is also known as the “dog whisperer.” She is the mother of a lively whippet named Stella and a foster mom to Blikkies and Bakkies (the Yorkies), who love to visit her when Karen is away.
Above all, René is a devoted wife to Louwrens, her husband of 26 years, and a proud mother to a beautiful daughter starting her career as a Food Scientist and a driven son in his second year studying Mechatronics Engineering.
